Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) vowed that if Hunter Biden is called into a closed door deposition by the House GOP then she will be in attendance to ensure accountability.
In the last few months, the main focus of the House GOP has been to investigate President Joe Biden’s family’s foreign business dealings for an impeachment inquiry.
Crockett joined MSNBC Katie Phang on Saturday morning reacting to comments made by Rep. James Comer (R-KY), who claimed Democrats would disrupt possible testimony Hunter Biden if he spoke to Congress. Phang asked Crockett if the younger Biden’s testimony would lead to disruption.
“It may be absolutely. I mean think about the fact that Marjorie Taylor Greene decided that she wanted to show his nudes because she felt as if that was relevant to an impeachment inquiry. So, yeah, I mean, it may be disruptive, but they’ve been disruptive this entire time,” Crockett told Phang.
She then pointed out that the investigations into the president’s son have been underway ever since former President Donald Trump was in office.
“I applaud Hunter Biden and his team for saying, listen, if y’all want to do this, we’re going to do this out in the open. We’re going to be transparent about it,” Crockett added.
“But of course, they don’t want transparency. What they want is they want to go behind closed doors. But I got news for you all. If for some reason there is a closed door deposition, I will be in attendance at that closed door deposition to make sure that we get some truth out of what happened,” she concluded.
